Moving to a new city can be a lot. There are so many moments where you have to push yourself to show up solo—and yeah, that can feel super awkward. But honestly… What’s even scarier is staying home, doom scrolling, and hoping new friends magically appear. We gotta set ourselves up for success. I like to think I’m pretty social. I love building community and connecting with people—but I haven’t fully found “my people” in Miami just yet. I know they’re out there though. And I’ve realized the only way to find them is by putting myself in spaces that align with the things I care about. This free yoga event was a good reminder that showing up alone can actually be the start of something really cool. Even if you don’t walk away with a new best friend, you leave feeling proud that you went. And that’s a W in my eyes 🏆 If you’re in a new city (or just trying to meet new people), here’s what’s been helping me: ✨ Look for low-key, interest-based events (yoga, creative stuff, markets) ✨ Don’t put pressure on it—just go to vibe ✨ Be open. Smile. Say hi to one person ✨ Keep showing up Thinking this might be the start of a new little series for me: making friends in a new city. We’ll see where it leads 💫 #MakingFriendsAsAnAdult #MiamiLife #SoloButSocial #CommunityBuilding #ClubSpaceMiami #MovingToMiami #FriendshipInYour30s
