Johannes and I recently visited a fox sanctuary, only 1h from San Diego. And it was an experience like no other. @jabcecc has made it their mission to rescue canids from fur farms, exotic pet trade, illegal pet ownership, and canids from research facilities. They provide these animals with a safe space and forever home. You can meet their foxes, their wolf Lucan, New Guinea Singing dogs, coyotes, arctic foxes and jackals. All these animals have been rescued from horrible conditions and now have wonderful home at the Judith A Bassett Canid Education & Conservation Center. @jabcecc is trying to educate, inspire, and conserve. They are a nonprofit organization and rely on donations and funds to be able to spread the word and rescue more canids from terrible conditions. You cant pet any of their animals, except for the Russian domesticated foxes. They were rescued from Novosibirsk in Russia. A research facility that experiments on foxes and breeds them. The only reason why you can interact with these Russian foxes at @jabcecc is because they actually enjoy the human interaction (because of how they were bred in Russia) and would be depressed if they wouldn't get any human interaction.
