⭐️ Action at the bottom of the pelvis. Narrow, wide, up and down; bits of movements for baby to wiggle down and out. ⭐️ Observe the stars attached to the sit bones (bottom side of the pelvis) and how they move based on what the legs are doing. ⭐️ Your pelvis and legs work together creating room for baby to navigate the pathway. ⭐️Baby exiting pelvis, best for knees closer together, ankles out so the femurs rotate and make the bottom of the pelvis a little wider for baby to cross the finish line. ⭐️ Small alternating hips movements can also provide more room for baby. Your partner will need to help you with this technique. At least 2-3 minutes each leg. Place block between stacked knees and stacked ankles. 🔷Deep squat hold practicing diaphragmatic breathing with isometric hold into inner thighs. Assisted deep squat hold works too. 🔷Deep squat hip openers. Another option is sitting on toilet with knees higher than hips. 🔷Hip rockers sets of 10-15 each leg 🔷Lateral lunges kneeling, standing or on birth ball 10-15 each leg 🔶It’s all about loosening up the top of pelvis and mid pelvis to encourage baby to put their head down there. Our modern world we sit way too much due to our electronics, 8 hour desk jobs or long commutes to work and back. I would like to bring up your awareness on your daily postural habits. ✅Your body position matters during pregnancy! Start early and develop positive postural habits that encourage #baby to be head down and on the left of your body for birth. 😫Nothing worse than gliding through your #pregnancy thinking everything is great, no one telling you your body position matters and at 36 weeks you hear those scary words “YOUR BABY IS BREECH!” 👶🏽3-4% of babies will remain #breech at birth. They are breech for a reason. Babies are smart and will stay in safe positions. That means 96-97% of babies will be born head down. 👶🏽Baby will grow and adjust in the spaces you allow. That is your body positions on a routine basis. If you constantly sit/lay, day after day in the same positions…lean the same way, recline backwards to take the pressure off, one foot under your pelvis, adjust to where baby is growing, etc, you are telling baby “grow here” this is the space I have for you. 🤰🏻Pregnancy favorable body positions will encourage baby to be head down. 🚽BEST PLACE TO DILATE!! Allows the pelvis to open about 30% more and the only natural place we allow our pelvic floor to drop. 🚽Adding a step under both legs or just one leg allows the pelvis to tilt at different degrees for baby to move down through the pelvis. 🚽Laboring on the toilet allows the #contractions to intensify and pressing baby’s head down onto the cervix, which allows it to open 🚽One position on the toilet, like lifting one leg can cause stronger contractions than the other positions. The uterus realizes there is more room and SQUEEZES #baby down with more intensity!! 🚽I’ll be HONEST, you won’t like it because of the intensity BUT if you want to hold your baby faster...highly recommend #laboring on the toilet!! 🚽Pillows on the tank, lid up, bare bottom down on the seat like you are using the restroom while laboring. 🚽3 contractions flat feet, 3 contractions right leg up, 3 contractions left leg up. Lay your head down on the pillows in between contractions and let it all go low and loose. Partner can provide comfort measures while you labor.
