#ad I’m just going to say this: I’m very bad at reapplying makeup because of how I glam. I do it usually with a makeup brush and a liquid sunscreen but I’m privileged and have access to international sunscreens, it’s HARD with American ones. This setting spray has made it easier. Been testing for about a week and while the can is already low… I can see how I would use this… Scenario 1: I’ve just applied 1/4 a tsp of sunscreen to my face, my makeup, and setting with this. Scenario 2: I’ve just worked in the office all day, my makeup is DONE and it’s getting close to or after 4PM and I need to head outside. In this scenario, I’m spraying for over 10s on just my face. Scenario 3: I’m at Mardi Gras (or a similar outing) and you KNOW I’ll be offering to spray others in the vicinity. The finish is more glow than matte when you apply it for the full SPF coverage, but if you’re using just a little setting spray, sure, it’s matte. @glowbyramon… I’ve been searching for years for that Shiseido setting spray, but that video taught me a LOT on how you can use these products… you’re just going to use a lot. I see this more as an education issue vs. it being a product that has no place, like everything, it depends! This is my most extra lineup. 36 & 37 were wild years, I’m really excited for what 38 has in store. I’ve truly never felt more strong or in control. Aging is, quite simply, the f*cking best. But, my skin has become used to some of the finer things in life and the way some people want to pack for all weathers, I want to pack for all skin situations. When I travel my skin freaks out: water and temperature changes, new kinds of allergens my skin has never been exposed to and just simply sleeping and eating differently (I eat more wine). I’ve been saying this for years. Creators & scientists like @Dr. Julian Sass have changed the industry. Science educators like Dr. Michelle Wong @Lab Muffin Beauty Science have given us the explanations and blueprints. Brands launching right now should not be surprised. Content creators have made countless videos showing how much sunscreen to use, and how sunscreen testing is done. Work with them, and if something fails your standards, don’t launch it. Personally have been trying with my brand @dieuxskin to launch a mineral sunscreen for five years. My co-founder Joyce and I have spent hours, months, half a decade trying to make something that passes our rigorous standards in the US. We’ve seen other brands do it, particularly Australian brands coming into the United States… but when I tell you we have horror stories I mean it. Manufacturers telling us they’re sending “sheer” samples (swipe to the end for some of them). Getting a GORGEOUS formula only for it to be SPF 15. Getting mineral sunscreens with SO MANY BOOSTERS it’s unclear how much protection actually came from zinc. Brands have a tone of power to educate the consumer and I want us to all come together, hold hands, and say together that chemical sunscreen is safe, zinc can be a marvelous ingredient, but we need to stop with the sheer mineral sunscreen.
