Michiganders are already paying more for just about everything. These tariffs would drive up the cost of groceries, threaten good-paying jobs, especially in our auto industry, and hit working families the hardest. We need to protect Michigan’s auto manufacturing, lower costs, and fight for our working families.
Right now, Republicans in the Michigan legislature are trying to get the Supreme Court to overturn marriage equality. Here’s my response to that: hell no.
The damage from this storm is severe. Communities are without power. Roads are blocked. Families are facing tough conditions. We're moving quickly to get people what they need—shelter, food, fuel, electricity—and to make sure no one is left behind. We are so grateful for our first responders, volunteers, and all those who have pitched in to help. If you need help, please call 2-1-1 or visit Michigan.gov/Miready for resources, shelter, info, and more. I know this is hard. But I also know something else: Michiganders are strong. We look out for one another. And we're going to get through this together.
Things feel uncertain right now—I hear you. But here's what I know: Michiganders are tough. We show up for each other. And no matter what's thrown our way, we find a way forward. I've got your back. We're in this together.
This month, we celebrate the legacy of generations of Black Michiganders who moved our state forward and played a critical role in shaping our history, communities, and economy. Let’s reflect and recommit ourselves to building a Michigan where everyone can thrive.
The story of transgender Michiganders is one of brave authenticity, resilience, and determination. This Trans Day of Visibility, I want the community to know that I am, and will always be, fiercely committed to building a Michigan where every person has the freedom and safety to be who they are.
As we kick off this auspicious season, I encourage everyone—whether you’re celebrating Ramadan or not—to take a moment to reflect on the past year and celebrate your own community as we head further into 2025.
Just another day on the job at Boyne Mountain ⛷️ The tourism industry is tough – but Boyne is a great example of how Michigan's winter tourism creates jobs and keeps our economy moving. Winter industries are at the heart of many communities, and I'm proud to support them.

Last year, I was proud to launch M3. Today, I'm honored to celebrate its first graduating class! Thank you to our grads for your commitment, grit, and leadership that will support our state’s defense for years to come.
Spending the day in northern Michigan, I was able to see firsthand the incredible strength and spirit of Michiganders. While it’s been a tough week, and many are still getting back on their feet, we are working together to rebuild. And I know we will come back even stronger.
To the first responders working day and night to keep Michiganders safe after Sunday’s storm: thank you. With more storms on the way today, it’s important for Michiganders to be prepared. Here’s where we’re at and what to expect in the coming days.
