One year ago today 🤍 and I’m taking it on again in six days… This was honestly one of the best days of my life. Watching this video back makes me so proud for persevering. Exactly what I needed to watch to get me through this maranoia I’ve currently got. I am so determined to do myself proud again. Doing it for my younger self who had no idea what she was capable of 🙏🏼 For anyone else running London this year, good luck!!! Have fun out there because that is what it’s all about!!!
Well, that didn’t go quite as planned… I know carbon fibre shoes are meant for race day 😅 I was just curious to see what all the fuss was about! Thank god I didn’t wait until race day to try them out though 😂 I was absolutely gutted that my foot bled through my shoe though! These were the official London Marathon 2024 race trainers, and it was my first time wearing them!! Oh well 😅 I’ll admit, it was a bit silly of me to start training so late (two weeks ago, to be exact 🫣). It feels so strange seeing everyone finishing their training plans and smashing out 32km runs, whilst I’m just getting started ✌🏼 Weirdly, I’m feeling okay about it! I’m really hoping and praying I can achieve my goal of not stopping or walking once 🙏🏼 especially since I’m not sure how many more marathons I actually want to do… not convinced the pain is worth it tbh! On the bright side, having trained less has definitely given me a better quality of life these past couple of months 😂 What do you reckon, how do you think I’ll do at London? @New Balance @lululemon
Sunbathing as an amputee: two years in vs seven years… I used to never walk into the pool as I’d need a specific waterproof leg. I’d either forget it, or wouldn’t want to wear it as it was made of wood and was uncomfortable. Instead, I’d hop, crawl or be carried. The fact I can now (1) walk into a pool and (2) use my walking leg is mind blowing to me 🤯 I’m so grateful to even have the option!! The foot I have is called ‘terra’ @Össur @Dorset Orthopaedic I do also notice with time, my scars are much better at dealing with the sun so I’m very happy about that. I still have to be careful though with my pale sensitive skin! I’ve noticed lately I’m getting a lot of messages with specific amputee related questions and I have a lot of new faces around here so I’m going to start sharing a lot more specific amputee content like this again. Feel free to DM me or comment them here and I can respond with a video ❤️
⤹ Running club accessibility I hope this video reassures some of you❤️ As a heads up - the lift shown as out of service in the video is at location 51.4834153, -0.1493360, so please avoid that route. Good news! Battersea tube station is fully accessible and the route to the lululemon store is too! 🙌🏼 For those curious, the pace groups are as follows: - 5:00 min/km - 6:00 min/km - 7:00 min/km - 8:00 min/km - I’ll be leading this one! I’ll check in with you all on Saturday via my running broadcast channel to make sure you have all the deets you need! I am so excited for this weekend - there are some epic surprises in store for everyone joining us 🥳 Eeeek see you soon! Run club empowered by @lululemon 💘 ad (I’m an ambassador)
Five years later 🤍 This was the first video I ever uploaded to TikTok so I thought I’d re-create it 💘 It’s so crazy to see what life has become since I decided to post videos on the internet! Very grateful 🌟🙌🏼
